The soup mix & beef broth: [30 Dec 2006|12:02am]

substitute for beef broth - is anyone using anything else & how does it taste? I was thinking of just using veg stock or even chicken.
Also, where can I get the Lipton's chicken noodle soup mix from in the UK? Thanks!

Bananas [20 Oct 2006|06:07am]

I've never done this diet before, and I'd like to try it. One problem is, though, that I HATE bananas. I refused to eat even banana baby food when I was a toddler. Is there anything I can substitute for them?

hi everyone! i am interested in doing the SHD but i have a few questions.

1. does the soup recipe last for an entire week or do i have to make it more then once? will the soup spoil?
2. how much weight did you loose and how tall are you?
3. did you exercise when you were on the diet?
4. do most people gain back the weight that they lost easily?

thanks in advance! :0)

It's day two. Day one went well, although I'm already sick of the soup.

I did lose .6 pounds. It's not fantastic. It will do. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a baked potato as much as I am now. For dinner, I'm going to bake a potato along with some zucchini. It should be okay. I don't think I'm going to use butter though. Butter seems dirty.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Hey, my name is Alice, I started the diet today. So far I'm doing good, I feel okay.

I've had some strawberries for breakfast and a bowl of soup for lunch.

I guess that's really it, I just wanted to say hi, though I'm not terribly certain anyone here still exists.

I gained 20 pounds over the past 6 months and I'm miserable.

Can someone please explain to me how this diet works?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

For the baked potato, does it have to baked whole or can we eat it in baked wedges or mashed with broth and herbs?

Also, are the following foods okay to eat?
Avocados (it's a fruit but it's high in fat)
Nuts and seeds
Canned fruits (extra light syrup)
Light whipped cream, cottage cheese, plain nonfat yogurt (since skim milk is allowed)
Egg whites
Chestnuts

I think we should do a memories or a chart or something with everyone's experience/weight loss so people can see how much weight people have lost and their experiences.

just a couple of quick questions not in the FAQ:

-avocados are a fruit, but they're very high in fat, so are they still ok to eat on fruit days?
-on the days that say like "beef and tomatoes", do we still eat veggies and fruit?
-is there anything we can substitute for brown rice??
-it says to stay away from dry beans, do soy beans count?

hey guys :) i'm new.
i'm currently on day 2 of the sacred heart diet...not feeling hungry at all, but i was wondering if anyone wanted to do it with me or if you have already done it, answer some questions of mine?

questions:
*i didn't find all the ingredients for the soup...only tomatoes, beef broth, green onions, carrots, and celery. is that ok?
*they also say "eat soup if you get hungry", but i haven't been hungry, so is it ok if i don't eat it cuz i haven't had time to make it yet...
*the thing about beef, does it have to be just plain beef or steak? can it be like burgers (without the bun of course) or something? and we can substitute chicken for all the days that require beef? almonds are high in protein, so are those ok to eat instead?
*how much should i eat? because i'm not overweight at all, but i wanna lose weight...but i heard if you don't eat at least 1,200 calories a day, your metabolism slows down and then you just gain weight..

ok thanks!!

or can you leave some out if you dont like some of the things in the soup.

Okay, since I don't eat after 7:00 I only have two more hours left on this diet. I had more water today and I feel so good. No cheating today! I am back on track. I have my period and have had it for 4 days, and I am wondering if that could alter my weight?
Also, to the people who comment on my LJ telling me how unhealthy I am, and chastising me for my lifestyle:
FUCK YOU!!!!! I HATE YOU, STOP BOTHERING ME!

Okay, last day. Since my HUGE mishap yesterday, I am definitely keeping on track today. I had milk for breakfast, and some rice and pepper strips for lunch. I didn't eat all of it though because I won't get home for another 6 hours and I think I will get hungry and I cant exactly buy brown rice in a high school. :) After my big binge, and after crying for 1 hour, I put on my mix cd and danced the night away. I am hoping to ride an exercise bike today to help. I need a punishment of some sort.
Menu for Day 7: Last Day!!!
B-Milk, unsweetened cranberyr juice mixed with unsweetened OJ (very very good)
Lu-Brown rice and pepper strips, water

i cant believe i couldnt make it through, i got to the end of day two and realized how miserable this diet is for me. i think ive had some sort of food withdrawl because, i was having huge headaches and ive just been grumpy for the past day and a half. i dont think this was for me, it was just too hard. this diet though however has made me appreciate food and ive started an account at www.fitday.com which is a wonderful site for keeping track of your diet and exercise. from now on i plan to eat 1800 calories a day the healthy way and to exercise for atleast 30 minutes a day.
